It is with great sadness that I have learnt of the passing of John Vass Morris. John, a Royal Navy D.E.M.S. gunner, died 4th May 2006 in Somerset just short of his 84th birthday.
The death of Mrs Jane Ellen Davies has recently been announced. Her funeral took place on Friday 18th November 2005, almost 63 years to the day after she was rescued. She was 98 years of age.

On 19th November, 1942 (55) people were transferred to the ss CLAN ALPINE from this boat.
The two Lascar crew men who died were believed to be Ghulam Rasul Nawabjan and Enathoolla Athoulil Mahd.
