HiI found this site really interesting for any one who is interested the London mint is selling sets of 3 coins in a display box with a book on this disaster .the coins are certified to be the worlds deepest treasure ever recorded.I purchased a set because of the very interesting story and it is a part of the history behind the journey of the people involved in the tragic sinking of the ship .this is not a sales pitch I was interested to see what had happened so I googled Ss city of Cairo and came across this very interesting and informative site.

I really appreciate your thoroughness and generosity, Hugh. Thank you. I'm doing a book for Yale University Press about civilian women in WW2 shipwrecks. Being able to digitally access Gladys Usher's story and understand her context is invaluable. Thank you.Jo. [:-)]

What an excellent site - Colin Keith, whose father Robert was on the SS City of Cairo, is my father's cousin and it was so interesting to learn a little more about him.
